HINDUHRUDAY SAMRAT

HINDUHRUDAY SAMRAT

The prime motive behind the formation of Shivsena was securing justice for Marathi youths. Balasaheb was a true nationalist. Shivsena did take up various issues related to Hindutva in the early days of its formation. But during the eighth decade of the previous century, Shivsena took one step further by moving from Marathi Asmita Pride to staunch Hindutva. Shivsena started advocating Hindutva and nationalism to fight for injustice and atrocities on Hindus of the country and safeguard the people living in border areas from militants.

Prabodhankar Thackeray had a systematic and scientific approach towards Hinduism. His Hinduism was more based on nationalist virtues than rituals and sacrifices. He was adherent to the teachings of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Balasaheb inherited this legacy from his father Prabodhankar Thackeray.
